Five years ago, Vietnam introduced a revised Competition Law, and after four years of implementation, the law has brought significant changes to the country’s control mechanism on economic concentration in mergers and acquisitions transactions (“M&A”). More and more domestic and foreign companies have shown strong interest in this matter, both in terms of legal regulations and common practices. In addition, on March 29th, 2023, the Vietnam Competition Commission (VCC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade was also officially established to centrally monitor the issue.
